By creating a Wavmate account or using the platform in any way, you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full. Please read them carefully.

01 Acceptance of Terms

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Wavmate. They govern your access to and use of the platform including all features and APIs. We may update these Terms at any time with 7 days notice. Continued use means acceptance.

02 Who Can Use Wavmate

Wavmate is available to users who are 16 years of age or older. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this requirement, have the legal capacity to enter this agreement, and have not been previously banned from Wavmate.

If you are between 16 and 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent.

03 Your Account

Registration

You must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration and keep it updated.

Security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account
  • Notify us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access
  • Do not share your account credentials with anyone

One Account Per Person

You may only maintain one personal Wavmate account. Creating multiple accounts to evade a ban is a serious violation.

04 Your Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of content you create and post on Wavmate.

Licence to Wavmate

By posting content, you grant Wavmate a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, display, and distribute your content solely to operate the platform. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.

Content Standards — You must not post:

  • Sexually explicit content or nudity
  • Graphic violence or gore
  • Content promoting or inciting violence against any person or group
  • Hate speech targeting race, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, or disability
  • Harassment, threats, or bullying of any individual
  • Deliberate misinformation or manipulated media presented as real
  • Content infringing any copyright or intellectual property right
  • Malware, spam, or phishing links
  • Content violating any applicable Indian law

05 Prohibited Conduct

  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform
  • Using bots, scripts, or scrapers without permission
  • Performing DDoS attacks or resource exhaustion
  • Bypassing rate limiting, IP blocking, or content moderation
  • Impersonating any person or organisation
  • Creating fake accounts or coordinated inauthentic behaviour
  • Buying, selling, or transferring your account
  • Exploiting bugs — report them to [email protected] instead

06 Security, Pentesting & Responsible Disclosure

⚠️ Unauthorised security testing, penetration testing, DDoS attacks, or any attempt to disrupt or compromise Wavmate's infrastructure is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate legal action under the Information Technology Act 2000 (India) and other applicable laws.

What is strictly prohibited

  • Performing penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, or security audits on Wavmate systems without our prior written permission
  • Conducting Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, stress testing, or any form of resource exhaustion against our servers, APIs, or infrastructure
  • Attempting to intercept, manipulate, or tamper with network traffic between users and our servers
  • Accessing, modifying, or deleting data that does not belong to you
  • Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from our platform
  • Using automated tools to flood our APIs, endpoints, or messaging systems
  • Attempting to exploit vulnerabilities for personal gain, public disclosure, or to cause harm
  • Social engineering attacks targeting Wavmate staff or users

Responsible Disclosure — If you find a vulnerability

We appreciate the security community and take vulnerability reports seriously. If you discover a genuine security issue, please follow responsible disclosure:

Do not exploit it

Do not access, modify, or exfiltrate any data. Stop as soon as you confirm the vulnerability exists.

Report it privately

Email [email protected] with a clear description, steps to reproduce, and potential impact. Do not post publicly.

Give us time to respond

We will acknowledge your report within 48 hours and aim to resolve critical issues within 14 days. Please allow us time to fix the issue before any public disclosure.

We will credit you

Responsible reporters who follow this process will be credited in our security acknowledgements at your request.

Legal consequences of violations

Any unauthorised attack, test, or intrusion attempt against Wavmate's systems will be treated as a criminal offence. We actively monitor all traffic and maintain detailed logs. Violations may result in:

  • Immediate permanent ban and IP block
  • Report to Indian law enforcement authorities
  • Prosecution under the Information Technology Act 2000, Section 66 (computer-related offences)
  • Civil litigation to recover damages
  • Coordination with your Internet Service Provider
If you are a legitimate security researcher and wish to conduct authorised testing, contact us at [email protected] before beginning any testing. We will review requests on a case-by-case basis.

07 Platform Features

Wavmate offers a personalised feed, end-to-end encrypted messaging, location-based discovery, news aggregation, search, and notifications. Your search queries are stored to improve search relevance. See our Privacy Policy for details.

08 Moderation & Enforcement

Appeals can be submitted to [email protected] with subject "Moderation Appeal". We respond within 7 business days.

09 Intellectual Property

All platform content, branding, logos, design, and software are owned by Wavmate and protected under applicable Indian and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

10 Privacy

Your use of Wavmate is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11 Third-Party Services

Wavmate integrates with: Better Auth, Cloudflare R2, MongoDB Atlas, Redis, PostHog, Sentry. Your use may be subject to those providers' own terms.

12 Disclaimers

Wavmate is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that user-generated content is accurate or appropriate.

13 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wavmate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

14 Termination

You may delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms. Deletion is processed within 30 days.

15 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the IT Act 2000 and the DPDP Act 2023. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India. Contact [email protected] to resolve disputes informally first.

16 Content Removal Requests

If you believe content on Wavmate violates your rights or our Community Guidelines, you may request its removal through the following channels:

In-App Reporting

The fastest way to report content is directly through the platform. Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) on any post, comment, or profile and select "Report". Our moderation team reviews all reports and takes action within 24–72 hours.

Email Removal Request

For content that cannot be reported in-app, or for urgent cases, email us at [email protected] with:

  • Your full name and contact details
  • A direct link (URL) to the content in question
  • A clear description of why the content should be removed
  • Any supporting evidence if applicable

We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and resolve it within 7 business days.

Submitting false or malicious content removal requests to silence others is itself a violation of these Terms and may result in action against your account.

17 Copyright & DMCA Takedowns

Wavmate respects intellectual property rights. If you believe your copyrighted work has been posted on Wavmate without your authorisation, you may submit a copyright takedown request.

To submit a valid copyright takedown, include:

  • Your full legal name, address, and contact information
  • A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  • The exact URL(s) of the infringing content on Wavmate
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorised
  • A statement that the information is accurate and you are the rights owner or authorised to act on their behalf
  • Your electronic or physical signature

Filing a false DMCA takedown notice is a serious legal matter. Under applicable law, you may be liable for damages if you knowingly misrepresent that content is infringing.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed due to a copyright claim you believe is incorrect, you may submit a counter-notice to [email protected]. We will restore the content within 10–14 business days unless the claimant seeks a court order.

18 RSS Feeds & Third-Party News Content

Wavmate aggregates news and articles from third-party publishers around the world via RSS feeds. We do not own, create, or editorially control this content.

What this means

  • News articles displayed on Wavmate are sourced from independent publishers via publicly available RSS feeds
  • All article content, headlines, images, and summaries remain the intellectual property of their respective publishers
  • Wavmate displays a summary or excerpt only — full articles link back to the original publisher's website
  • We do not modify, translate, or alter third-party article content
  • Wavmate is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or opinions expressed in third-party news content

For publishers — content removal from our feed

If you are a publisher and do not wish your RSS feed content to appear on Wavmate, contact us at [email protected] with your publication name and feed URL. We will remove your content within 5 business days.

For users — reporting inaccurate news

If you believe a news article displayed on Wavmate is factually inaccurate, misleading, or from an unreliable source, use the in-app report button or email [email protected]. We review all such reports and may remove feeds from sources found to consistently publish misinformation.

Third-party news content on Wavmate reflects the views of the original publishers only. Wavmate does not endorse, verify, or take editorial responsibility for any third-party news content displayed on the platform.
